Should I give feedback directly in the app or on Discord?

Updated this week

Starting with version 1.8.0, Heptabase supports in-app customer feedback. You can now directly report bugs, suggest features, and provide feedback within the desktop and web apps.

Benefits of using in-app support:

1. Better bug tracking

Bug reports become individual tickets, allowing you to easily track progress and receive notifications within Heptabase once issues are resolved. If you have questions about a ticket's status, you can quickly follow up within the app.

2. Intuitive and unified experience

About 10% of users participate in Discord, but many prefer direct, private feedback. In-app support makes it easier for everyone to share feedback anytime during their Heptabase session.

3. Improved team efficiency

The in-app system collects important details (operating system, app version, scenario descriptions) automatically via chatbot. This reduces the need for multiple follow-up questions and allows our team to address your feedback faster.

We know many users enjoy the Discord community, where they interact with our team and other users, exchanging valuable tips and advice. Here's our recommendation on where to leave different types of feedback:

When to use in-app support:

  • Bug reports: Use the app for efficient tracking. If you're unable to log into Heptabase, email us at [email protected], and we'll quickly resolve your login issue.

  • Feedback that needs tracking: You can easily update your feedback or ask about its progress directly in the app.

  • Sensitive or private discussions: For feedback containing private information, use the app’s secure support system.

When to use Discord:

  • Casual conversations, sharing, or team appreciation: We welcome you to engage casually and openly with the community.

  • General suggestions or brainstorming without tracking: Discord is ideal if you want to gather opinions or discuss ideas informally. Once your ideas are clear, feel free to submit detailed feedback in Heptabase.

These guidelines are suggestions, not rules. Please choose whichever method feels most comfortable to you. Your input is essential, and our goal is to handle each piece of feedback thoughtfully, ensuring you feel heard and supported.
