If you see the following error message:

Cannot update while running on a read-only volume. The application is on a read-only volume. Please move the application and try again. If you're on macOS Sierra or later, you'll need to move the application out of the Downloads directory. See https://github.com/Squirrel/Squirrel.Mac/issues/182 for more information.

This means your Heptabase isn't installed properly.

When you download the latest version of the Heptabase desktop app from our website on MacOS, it will be a .dmg file.

After opening the file, you will see the window shown below:

To avoid seeing the error message, you must drag the Heptabase icon to the "Applications" folder.

If you have previously added Heptabase to your Mac Dock, please remove it and then reopen the successfully installed Heptabase app.
