How do I transfer my Heptabase data to another device?

Your Heptabase data automatically syncs to our cloud servers as long as sync is enabled (it's on by default). This makes it easy to transfer your data to a new device.

For example:

  • Switching computers: If you started using Heptabase on Computer A and buy a new computer, just install our desktop app on the new device and log in. Your data will automatically sync from the cloud—no manual transfer needed.

  • Switching mobile devices: If you previously used Heptabase on your phone and now have a new phone or tablet, download the Heptabase app to your new device and log in. Your data will sync automatically.

However, if you use Apple's built-in tools to transfer data from an old device to a new iPad or iPhone, you might run into issues where cards can't be read. In this situation, try reinstalling the mobile app to fix the problem.

Please note that Heptabase currently doesn't allow data migration between different accounts. You can't export data from one account to another. If you want to change the email address linked to your account, please email us at [email protected].
